Roman Reigns Def. Goldberg

No idea how long Goldberg’s contract goes for but this was a fine match to end his career on, a little passing of the spear torch, if you will.  At least Goldberg didn’t embarrass himself and he put over the top guy in a big money spot. ★

Bianca Belair Won the Women’s Elimination Chamber

Rhea was the only one to actually look cool in her subjugation of women garb!  Does Alexa actually not know how to run?  See-though and phoney looking. I thought Ripley was getting the nod after having a long run in that gauntlet match.  Belair earned a receipt after her burial at SummerSlam. ★

Ronda Rousey and Naomi Def. Charlotte Flair and Sonya Deville

I smiled for Sonya’s wonderfully derpy wiggle as she revealed that of course she didn’t need to put her arm in a sling.  Simple but effective psychology of rendering Ronda armless by working on her free arm.  And thankfully, our intelligence isn’t insulted as Ronda could legit kill someone with only one functioning limb.  Sonya tapped out to Ronda as Charlotte felt Ronda slit Charlotte’s throat with her eyes. ★★

Drew McIntyre Def. Madcap Moss

Poor Moss, that was a brutal landing on his melon from that Alabama Slam.  I wonder if Corbin yanking Moss out did more harm than good?  This match was surprisingly decent until the end when Drew swung his sword at Corbin.  Has Drew ever done that before?  I mean, that is kind of attempted murder, is that a spot he normally does on Fox?  Fucking hell, they’re really gonna give us Corbin vs. Drew at Mania, aren’t they? ★★

Becky Lynch Def. Lita

Was it just me or did the camera go wide multiple times to hide Lita’s “jogging?”  More of Becky’s horrendous, disbelief oversell of a 2 count, all the more idiotic because Lita doesn’t look even remotely athletic anymore.  Bad. ★

Usos No-Contest Viking Raiders

Show running long I suppose?  No match.  I hope they get paid a ridiculous amount just for being on the show, though.

Brock Lesnar Won Men’s Elimination Chamber

Brock blew on Bobby’s pod and drew a little mark on it.  For everyone that got sick of Brock being on top and having the title whilst part-timing, I can’t imagine they haven’t flipped to loving the guy again.  We talk on the Wrestling Elitists Podcast about how great it is to see CM Punk happy again, well how happy does Brock look?  He’s such a ham and it feels like he’s enjoying the shit out of his latest run.  The story of this match was Austin Theory getting powerbombed into Lashley’s pod, so Lashley went into the concussion protocol.  That was one of the lamer looking excuses to book someone out of a match, and of course, in traditional WWE fashion, it does more harm than good in “protecting” someone.  Brock came in and destroyed everyone in seconds, including F-5’ing Theory from the top of the pod in a dangerous looking spot.  And to cement that Brock’s just a big ol’ slice o’ scalawag, he, on camera, poked his balls a lot and jostled his junk around.  ★★

Post Examination:

The Wrestling Elitists are off to Mania!  Not even a passable February filler show by any means. Building towards title for title in Brock vs. Roman is a way to give the main event of Mania somewhat of a different shine in its billionth rendition?  It’s smart that the production team had graphics for the main event matches ready to go.  Brock/Roman; Ronda/Charlotte; Becky/Bianca—it cuts the crap and you’d think it may compel people to buy tickets for the many remaining seats left.  I don’t know what they are going to do for the undercard, as only 5 people in the promotion get any kind of credibility with their camera time.  Hopefully having some matches set in stone allows the writers to focus on getting creative generated for the rest of the card so there’s an allusion that something matters. We’re looking forward to Mania but we can’t help but see it as a swan song from WWE until things rapidly improve.
