Wrestlers You Should Know #1—Ninja Mack

In this new feature, we spotlight Independent and/or lesser known wrestlers that deserve a larger spotlight.

I’m stealing the catch phrase of the first wrestler I’m highlighting in this series, Ninja Mack.  Mack is being recognized for his consistent love of all things high risk, whether it’s in the ring with his incomparable athleticism, outside with his love of poker, or in his past life as a Cirque du Soleil performer.  Ninja Mack has emerged over the last year as one of the premier up and coming talents in wrestling with his unique style, which incorporates gymnastics with moves such as his back handspring tope, a standing corkscrew splash and what may be the most incredible kip up I’ve ever seen that I cannot even accurately describe, so I’ve linked it here.  Not to mention his gear speaks to me on a personal level when he’s wearing black, since it reminds me of the Foot Clan from the 1990s TMNT films.

My first exposure to Ninja Mack was in the preshow for The Wrld on GCW where I felt like I was sending a clip to Sean & Chris every 5 seconds of the wild moves Mack and his competitors were pulling off.  The match was fast paced, high intensity and, to borrow from Chris, F-U-N. Soon after, I saw that Mack would be a part of Bloodsport (a shoot style, MMA-inspired show) during WrestleMania week which intrigued me as his style doesn’t seem suited for a wrestling show that occurs without ropes or turnbuckles to launch himself off of.

Prior to the start of his match, Ninja Mack removed his trademark mask, seemingly signifying that he too understood this is not the typical type of match fans may know him for. I fucking LOVED that move and it instantly had me bought in as he took on Yoya.  The finish to the match left me speechless, as Ninja Mack connected with what I can only describe as a corkscrew roundhouse kick that rendered his opponent KO’d.

Since then, I’ve watched as much Ninja Mack content as I possibly can (which helps since he has a strong online presence that includes significant amount of YouTube videos to watch what he’s done over the last year).  He recently made his Pro Wrestling NOAH debut and has had an opportunity to shine, showcasing his athleticism to a whole new market and I couldn’t be more excited about seeing where this takes him over the next year.

Pro Wrestling NOAH sees in Mack what many of us over the past few months have come to see and recognize his star potential, which they solidified by announcing that he has signed an exclusive contract with Pro Wrestling NOAH through next year.  Last week, I retweeted a clip of Ninja Mack from a recent NOAH match and captioned it with “Ninja Mack has to be an odds on favorite for breakout star of 2022!”

So I’ll end this article as it started. Ninja Mack is on his way to stardom.
